My name is Janine Fowler — I am a WordPress expert and web designer in the Portland area. I have 10+ years of web design experience and have been working for myself for almost five years. I began learning HTML around age 12 and was creating my own personal blogs before the term blog was well-known. I ran several personal sites, online diaries, fan sites & ‘zines. My skills grew along with the industry. After high school I had a string of retail jobs, mostly record stores, and then in 2007 I decided to try working from home. It was a couple of years before I could really pay the bills this way, but the struggle has been worth it.
I specialize in blogs and small business websites, and I am an expert when it comes to great content as well as design. Even the best website is worthless if no one sees it, and all of my sites come with built-in Search Engine Optimization. I am also engaged in the latest social media. I have over 800 followers on my personal Twitter account. I was the first of my friends to sign up for MySpace in 2003 and am now enjoying Google Plus and Spotify.
I also offer freelance writing services. I do blogging and ghostwriting for web and am experienced in writing for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This means that my writing utilizes keywords and content structure most likely to be picked up and highly rated by Google and other traffic sources. When it comes to your website being seen, good content is even more important than good design. I will help you create great content.
When I’m not working, I enjoy thrift shopping, writing for my own blogs, playing with my toddler and doing arts & crafts.
